Welcome to the website of the Southwestern Europe Regional Contest (SWERC) 2017, which is co-organized by Télécom ParisTech and École normale supérieure and took place in Télécom ParisTech on November 25–26, 2017. This year, a record number of 76 teams of 3 students competed to SWERC (75 of which were ranked) and two sponsor teams also participated.

For the final standings of SWERC, please refer to the results page. Congratulations to ENS Ulm 1, the SWERC champion, and to all other participating teams! You can also access the problems (including other contest data), and the photos of the event.

SWERC is a 5-hour on-site programming contest for teams of three students (see regulations), focused on algorithmic problem solving and practical coding. It is open to teams from France, Israel, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, and Western Austria. SWERC serves as the regional selection phase for the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest: the winning team(s) of SWERC will advance to the ACM ICPC World Finals and compete against teams from all over the world.

With more than 40 years of existence, ACM ICPC is the premier global programming competition conducted by and for the world's universities. It fosters creativity, teamwork, and innovation in building new software programs, and enables students to test their ability to perform well under pressure. Last year, 46,381 of the finest students in computing disciplines competed worldwide in the regional phases of this contest.
